Rivers In Haryana

Most of Haryana is in the plains, except few hills belonging to Aravalli and Shivalik range Ranges and hills are major source of rivers.Drainage generally means the flow of rivers. Rivers flow in various and these forms are, called drainage patterns. The drainage system is the special arrangement of water flow created by the main river and its tributaries.

  • It is a type of network in which the rivers meet and form d directional flow of water. The area through which the rivers flow is called its drainage area or basin.
  • The drainage system of a particular area depends on the composition and nature of rocks, topography, slope, amount of running water, etc.
